A Homeschool Tip
Do you have a left-handed child?
One of my children was left-handed, and to be quite honest, it didn't change much about the way he learned how to write and do a few other things.
We did, however, come up with 5 Tips for Lefties - which I hope will be beneficial to you if you have a child in this camp!
I never made a big deal about my son's left-handedness. He didn't start displaying this dominance until he was about five years old, when he used both hands equally. (I think there is a connection between creativity and handedness, but that's simply MY theory!)
A Book Recommendation
The Hawk and the Dove (book #1) by Penelope Wilcock
I have been enjoying this marvelous little book before bed each night. Its form is a book of stories - stories about the fictional Benedictine monastery of St Alcuin's in Yorkshire... set in the fourteenth century.
The stories are told to a young girl, Melissa, by her mother. Melissa is a descendant of one of the monks, and these charming stories have been passed down through the generations. Each has a beautiful moral about humility, generosity, perseverance, etc...
Book #2 in the series is already on order, because I'm certain this is a series I will want to own.
Something Interesting
Many of you know my husband quit his corporate job as a software developer a few years ago. (And yes, this was in 2020 when we had a freshman in college and another set to enter college just a few years after that!)
This wasn't on a whim. A lot of careful financial planning and prayer went into the decision, which has been one of the BEST decisions of our married life!
He was recently interviewed for a podcast about this, and he also discussed many other financial principles, including his personal finance course for teens.
Take a listen for some great advice no matter where you are in life!
I'm so proud of my husband for doing what he loves: using his financial expertise to serve individuals, families, and small businesses.
Something Beautiful
I'm tempted to try this myself over the next few days! We have so many beautiful leaves falling here.

I imagine the next time you open a Friday Focus, the election here in the United States will be concluded. I am excited to have the mailers and texts stop and for life to return to normal. |
Aren't you glad our hope doesn't rest in a human leader?
Have a wonderful weekend!
